Managing your fleet
The Fleet section (/fleet) is where you manage every operational asset — vehicles, drivers, warehouses, routes — and keep their compliance documents current.
Vehicles
At Fleet → Vehicles (/fleet/vehicles) you can:
- Add new vehicles with make, model, registration, capacity, and assigned driver.
- Upload and track required documents — registration, insurance, fitness, axle-load certificate, road permits.
- Record maintenance — last and next service date, tyre history, optional mechanic notes.
- See current status — available, on a job (with link to the job), in maintenance, off-road.
- Get reminders when service or certifications are nearing expiry.
Drivers
Drivers live at Fleet → Vehicles (assigned per vehicle) and also surface in role-based access if they have logins. For each driver you can store:
- Licence number, class, expiry.
- PrDP (Professional Driving Permit) and other endorsements.
- Medical certificate expiry.
- Performance history — completed jobs, on-time rate, incidents.
Routes
Fleet → Routes (/fleet/routes) lets you save common lanes for reuse — for example, “Lusaka → Kitwe” with standard pricing, ETA, and preferred vehicle type. Saved routes speed up load creation and dispatch.
Warehouses
Fleet → Warehouses (/dashboard/fleet/warehouses) lists every facility you operate — location, capacity, storage type and whether you’re open to new clients. It’s a listing rather than an operations system; there’s no throughput or dwell-time reporting. See Warehouse capacity.
Transporters (partner network)
Fleet → Transporters (/fleet/transporters) is your network of partner carriers. You can:
- Post route availability for trucks with spare capacity, so shippers on that corridor find you.
- Tier partners (e.g. Tier 1 = first refusal, Tier 2 = backup).
- Review their performance against your jobs only (separate from the platform-wide rating).
- Negotiate and store contract rates per lane.
Compliance
Fleet → Compliance (/fleet/compliance) is the rollup view: every expiring document across every vehicle, driver, warehouse, and load. Use it weekly to catch lapses before they cost you. See Compliance for detail.
Dispatch
Fleet → Dispatch (/fleet/dispatch) is your real-time control tower — see Dispatch coordination.
