ZRA tax compliance
DynaCargo integrates with the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) so VAT-registered transporters can issue compliant electronic invoices without leaving the platform.
What ZRA integration does
When enabled, the platform:
- Adds the correct VAT line to invoices automatically.
- Submits the invoice to ZRA for issuance of a fiscalised invoice number.
- Returns the official ZRA invoice number and QR code, embedded in the PDF.
- Stores the ZRA reference against the invoice for audit.
The result is an invoice that’s both client-friendly and tax-compliant on issue, with no separate ZRA-facing step.
Enabling it for your organisation
- Go to Account → Company settings → Tax.
- Enter your ZRA TPIN (Taxpayer Identification Number).
- Enter your ZRA API credentials if your organisation handles its own filing (most don’t — the platform handles it on your behalf).
- Save.
Once enabled, every outgoing invoice you create runs through ZRA before being delivered to the shipper.
What the shipper sees
The invoice PDF includes:
- Your ZRA TPIN.
- The fiscalised invoice number.
- A scannable QR code that confirms the invoice with ZRA when scanned (see QR verification).
- The VAT breakdown.
Mock mode
For testing — typically in lower environments or during onboarding — ZRA integration can run in mock mode, which fabricates plausible references without actually contacting ZRA. Production accounts run in live mode by default.
Troubleshooting
- Invoice stuck in “Submitting to ZRA” — usually a transient ZRA service outage. Retries are automatic; if it doesn’t clear within a few hours, contact support.
- “Invalid TPIN” error — double-check the TPIN in your company settings.
- Cross-border — if you’re invoicing from outside Zambia, the ZRA path is skipped. Tax handling for your jurisdiction depends on local integration — see Contact support.
