Glossary
Backload
A return-leg load, posted by a provider to sell the empty kilometres they’d otherwise drive home. Shippers bid on backloads exactly as they do on loads. See Posting backloads and routes.
Booking
What exists once a load is awarded or accepted: the agreement between a shipper and a carrier at an agreed price. A booking creates a trip and carries the settlement state.
Booking mode
How a load is priced. Open bidding invites quotes and has a bidding deadline; Fixed price names a rate that the first carrier to accept takes.
Carrier
Synonym for transporter. The party physically moving the cargo.
Corridor
A preset lane between two cities, such as Lusaka → Beira. Picking a preset in a posting wizard is what enables the lane rate hint and automatic matching — a custom lane gets neither.
Cross-border clearance
Permission for a carrier’s company to work lanes that cross a border: seeing, bidding on, accepting, being matched to, and posting cross-border work. Granted manually and separately from verification. See Cross-border clearance.
DPO Pay
The payment gateway DynaCargo uses for subscription checkout. It is not used to pay for shipments.
Load
A single shipment request — lane, cargo, price, timing. Posted by a shipper. The app says “load” throughout; older material may say “job”.
Platform fee
DynaCargo’s commission: 5% of the agreed price, deducted from the transporter’s side. The shipper pays the agreed price in full and the transporter nets 95% of it. Shown on the trip’s Settlement panel.
POD
Proof of Delivery — a consignee signature and at least one cargo photo, captured by the driver at drop-off. Capturing it moves the trip to Delivered, opens settlement and prompts both sides to rate.
PACRA
Patents and Companies Registration Agency — Zambia’s company registrar. Your PACRA registration number is one of the two identifiers used to verify a company.
RBAC
Role-Based Access Control — DynaCargo’s permission model. See Roles and permissions.
Route availability
A carrier’s published notice that a truck is running a given corridor on a given date with spare capacity. Shippers search it, and matching loads generate a notification. See Posting backloads and routes.
Settlement
The record that a shipment has been paid for. The shipper marks a booking funded after paying off-platform; once the booking is also delivered, settlement releases and the ZRA invoice generates. No money moves through DynaCargo at any point. See Invoicing overview.
TCC
Tax Clearance Certificate — issued by the ZRA, tracked as a compliance document.
TPIN
Taxpayer Identification Number — the ZRA’s identifier for taxpayers in Zambia. Used to verify a company and printed on tax invoices.
Transporter
A carrier — a company or individual moving cargo for shippers. Signs up as a provider account.
Trip
The execution of a booking: the ten-step status sequence from Assigned to Delivered, with its timeline, GPS trail, waybill and proof of delivery. Lives at /dashboard/trips/{bookingId}.
Verification
The review that earns a company its ✓ Verified badge, based on its PACRA number, TPIN and uploaded documents. Verified carriers rank first in route search. Distinct from cross-border clearance.
Waybill
The printable per-trip document — parties, route, cargo, vehicle and a verification QR code — meant to be shown at checkpoints. See Live tracking and waybills.
ZRA
Zambia Revenue Authority. Invoices are fiscalised with the ZRA and carry 16% VAT, calculated tax-inclusive. See ZRA tax compliance.
